THE CONFESSION ROOM began as a single comedy song, written by Dan Looney & Sam Champness as they studied at Southend College, both only 17 at the time. Dan soon started to develop the show, adding songs and creating a concept, idea and title.

On the 30th May 2012, Joshua Lovell sung 'Excalibur93' to a packed audience at Arts Educational Schools and immediately, the show began to create hype on Youtube and social networking sites. Not long after, a professional London workshop was booked, produced by Arts Ed's Head of Musical Theatre Chris Hocking. The book was co-written by Dan and brother Reece, who also provided additional lyrics. The workshop was directed by Paul Foster and musically directed by Tim Evans, both of whom have stayed on to be the long-term creatives of the show.

Patrick Wilde was soon brought onto the project to re-write the book and since then the show has seen a reading of the new book plus a 40 minute performance of the show at The Landor Theatre for Aria Entertainments & Knockhardy Productions.

The all-star Concept Album was released on 31st May 2013. The album stars Anna-Jane Casey, Dean Chisnall, Alex Gaumond, Ross Hunter, Devon-Elise Johnson, Matthew Rowland, Joshua Lovell, Stephanie Clift, Ben Fenner, Steven Bush, Rebecca Jayne-Davies and Natalie Bush.
